Meet Brittany, The Founder Behind the Mission
Baylor University grad. Waco local. Founder of P1 Refreshments.
I graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Corporate Communication and double minors in Religion and Nonprofit Marketing. During my time there, I discovered something that has shaped every decision I've made since: a genuine passion for serving others and creating meaningful connections.
After graduation, I pursued a career in the corporate world, but despite valuable experiences, something always felt missing. I wanted my work to make a tangible difference in people's everyday lives. I didn't just want to be part of a business. I wanted to build one that put people at the center of everything it did.
That vision eventually became P1 Refreshments.
What many people see as a vending machine or a cup of coffee, I see as an opportunity to make someone feel valued. A quick snack during a busy shift, a fresh cup of coffee before an important meeting, or a thoughtfully stocked breakroom can communicate care in ways that are often overlooked but deeply appreciated.
Today, my husband and I are proud to call Waco home, where we enjoy exploring the city's incredible community of locally owned businesses alongside our dog. Whether we're trying a new coffee shop, supporting a family-owned restaurant, or cheering on another entrepreneur pursuing a dream, we're reminded of why we chose to build our own business here.
As a local business owner, I understand the importance of relationships, trust, and showing up for your community. Those values guide the way I serve every customer and shape every decision we make at P1 Refreshments.
My hope is simple: to help businesses create workplaces where people feel seen, appreciated, and cared for—one snack, one cup of coffee, and one meaningful interaction at a time.
I Didn't Start P1 Refreshments Because I Loved Vending Machines
I started P1 Refreshments because I believe people deserve to feel valued.
For years, I worked in environments where I often felt like I was just another cog in the machine. I showed up, worked hard, and did my job, but I rarely felt like the person behind the work truly mattered.
That experience stayed with me and ultimately changed the way I think about business.
It made me ask a simple question:
What if business could be different?
What if every interaction, no matter how small, was an opportunity to show someone they mattered?
That question eventually became P1 Refreshments.
I realized that every employee has someone waiting for them at home. A spouse. A child. A parent. A best friend. A pet, excited to see them walk through the front door.
No one should spend the majority of their day feeling like they don't matter or working their life away. So when I started P1 Refreshments, I made a promise to myself: No matter how much we grow, we will never lose sight of the people behind the work.
That's why our name means People First. And that's why our promise will always be:
People First. People Always.
Building Something Different
Success, to me, isn't measured only by growth. It's measured by impact.
I want our customers to know we're responsive when they need us.
I want them to know we follow through on our commitments.
I want them to know we'll always communicate honestly—even when the answer isn't the easiest one to give.
And one day, when P1 grows, and our team grows with it, I want every employee who works here to feel the opposite of how I once felt. I want them to feel seen. Supported. Trusted. And genuinely excited to come to work.
Because life is too short to spend every day feeling like just another number.
People First. People Always.
